Brief Description It is a dark blue cotton skirt having beautifully woven designed border, stitched to the main length of the cloth. A narrow strip of floral design is woven on the border pieces. Geometric designs are present on the cloth. Some of these designs have Swastik symbols in the middle of them. Two ends are thickly woven with red thread. Very light blue stripes are present all over the body. The Kachins are hill people who live to the north-east of Burma, along the Chinese and Indian frontiers. They speak their own Tibeto-Burman language.
