Brief Description Lime Stone - Dome-slab depicting top to bottom : 1. Running deer and lions, 2. Chandaka reports Siddharthas Mahabhinishkramana(departure) 3. Gods carry the Bodhisattva Siddhartha's crown to heaven 4. Siddhartha sends away Chandaka with ornaments and the horse Kanthaka (top to bottom). Mended.
Detailed Description Dome slab depictiong events from Buddha's life in three panels. The lower panel narrates the scenes of Siddhartha handing over the royal robes and ornaments to Chandaka and changing his garments to a monk's dress, Chandaka and horse Kanthaka return to Kapilavastu. The middle panel depicts gods carrying the relinquished crown of Bodhisattava Siddhartha to heaven with great rejoice. The upper panels show Chandaka reporting king Suddhodana about the Mahabhinishkramana of Gautama, Suddhodhana getting shocked on hearing the news and Yasodhara almost collapsing and khantaka (horse) stands mournfully before her. The top border of the panel depicts deer and lions in movement towards right.
