Brief Description

He passed the M.Sc. examination here in June 1922. Later, Dr. Ambedkar submitted his thesis titled "The problem of the Rupee" to the examiners was bound to take five to six months, he decided to study meanwhile for doctorate in some other well-known academic centre in Europe. He secured admission to the University of Bonn in Germany on 10th May 1922. As he was working on his thesis there, he was called back to London by his professor Edwin Cannon, as the members of the examining committee had refused to accept the thesis.

Dr. Ambedkar sent his thesis, The Problem of the Rupee to the University after making some changes in it. For this he was awarded the degree of D.Sc. of the University of London (November 1923).
