The Columbia University conferred upon Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar the degree of "Doctor of Laws". The convocation held at Columbia University, New York on 5th June 1952. The degree was printed in Latin and English. Unfortunately, Maisaheb was unable to attend the convocation, in spite of wanting to do so, owing to financial constraints and official restrictions in travelling to a foreign land.
