The head of the Buddha made in stucco is a beautiful specimen of late Gandhara art tradition influenced by the Gupta tradition. While the earlier style of wavy hair with top-knot is retained, the upward treatment of eyebrows, half-open lotus bud shaped eyes and the feeling of inner peace on the face serve to relax typical Gandhara rigidity.
