Brief Description

A folio from an illustrated manuscript in the popular Mughal style. Sages are performing a yajna in the presence of celestial beings, including Indra on his elephant mount, Airavata.  Eleven Brahmanas are performing a yajna in the foreground. Coconuts and other puja accessories lie in front of them. Two of them are pouring oblations in the sacred fire.
