The painting depicts the Nayak ( the hero) seated on a low raised cot and leaning against a golden coloured cushion. The Nayika (the heroine) is seen standing inside the pavilion near the hero. Ornate architecture, rich costumes, gallant and handsome heroes engaged in the courtship of beautiful heroines are prominent characteristics of Bundelkhand style of miniature paintings.
