Brief Description

Based on the epic Ramayana the painting depicts a scene of Khara Vadha. Lord Rama was a incarnation of lord Vishnu, who killed many demons during the period of 14 years in exile. One of the demon killed was Khara. In this painting Rama is standing with bow and arrows in his hand, on the left. He is aiming at Khara, an ass faced demon, who is standing on the right.

There are numerous arrows piercing in the neck of demon khara. For representing forest the artists painted trees on either side and in the centre of the composition.
