Brief Description

This is one of the highest achievements of the artists of Mohenjodaro. The right hand rests on the hip, the left arm, covered entirely with bangles, hangs loosely, and seems relaxing by the posture of the legs. The head is provocatively tilted and gives the impression of an aboriginal with large eyes, flat nose and bunched curly hair. The modelling of the back, hips and buttocks, even in a small figurine as this, is quite effective. She is nude but her neck is decorated with a tiny necklace and her hair is plaited in an elaborate manner.
