Detailed Description

Elizabeth Sass Brunner was a Hungarian Artist born in 1889 in Budapest. She lived and travelled in India extensively on pilgrimage tours with an artistic interest. She along with her daughter Elizabeth Brunner came to India in the year 1930 in search of a new path in life. Both the mother and daughter duo became the respected figures in Indian artistic life with their art subjects concentric on the life and spirit of India.

Throughout their travel in India together they painted landscapes, mountains, forests, monuments and people along with major Indian personalities being received by Ravindranath Tagore, several Maharajas and also many prominent Indian spokesmen.
