Brief Description

Framed painting in Deccani style with Rai Venkatachalam, the court artist. A royal procession of Nizam ali Khan. He is out for a shikar in the plains around Golconda fort accompanied by the top ranking nobles and his personal staff on horseback's. The procession is led by the Nishan (standard) on elephant followers by French Infantry of Raymond s corp. who is also seen in the picture.

Behind the royal elephant there are two more elephants, one carrying the royal insignia of Mahi and Maratib, the other the big kettle drum Chanda Bibi the famous courtesan is seen in the background riding in the palanquin (Miyana). Matching no XXXV-17.
